+ Makelele is a defensive beast; he defends just like the top center-backs in the game, being able to mark opponents tightly and intercept passes like he predicts the future, and he even performs out-of-this-world standing and sliding tackles that are extremely clean and precise. (9.9/10)

+ His physicality is surprisingly strong for someone that only measures at 174 cm tall; he is quite aggressive if necessary and can body even the strongest attackers with his strength like punching bags. (9.5/10)

+ With a Low/High work rate, Makelele is an incredibly recommended option for players who prefer ultra-defensive CDMs to pivots, as he is almost guaranteed to stay back during attacking situations and contribute in even the tightest defensive situations. (10/10)

Claude Makelele is one of, if not the best, CDM in the game. While his pace may seem a bit outdated and slow compared to other defenders, he is a monster at defense, being able to mark, intercept, and tackle opponents like he's playing against Sunday League players. For a 113 like him costing only 800 shards, he is an absolute bargain to get and is extremely recommended to use in your squad if you're keen on ultra-defensive types for a CDM.
