Detail Review
Pace
This version of Leão is not as fast as expected in-game. Compared to meta wingers, he struggles to produce that explosive pace burst consistently. However, he still gets some acceleration boost on skill moves like Roulette and Open Up Fake Shot, which helps him create separation in close situations. Overall, pace feels decent but not elite.
(8.9/10)
Dribbling
+
His dribbling is outstanding. Despite being 6'2", his joystick movements feel surprisingly smooth. He is agile, so he can perform silky turns without feeling heavy. His skill moves are very effective, often producing high stun on defenders, making him dangerous in 1v1 situations.
(9.8/10)
Shooting
+
His shooting is very reliable. Shot power is decent, but his finishing accuracy is elite, especially when it comes to finesse shots from his stronger foot. His power shots are also great, making him a strong goal threat.
(9.6/10)
Positioning
+
His attacking awareness is very good. With a High/Low workrate, he constantly makes forward runs and finds space in attacking areas. He positions himself well to receive through balls and stays involved in attacking plays.
(9.8/10)
Passing
+
His passing is surprisingly well in-game, especially his short passes, which are very crisp and helpful in build up play.
(9.2/10)
Physical
-
Despite his tall build, his raw strength feels low, and he can get pushed off the ball in shoulder-to-shoulder duels. Against strong defenders, holding possession can be difficult.
(8.4/10)
Stamina
-
With 4* stamina, there is a clear drop in his performance after around the 65th minute. His movement and sharpness reduce noticeably, so having a super sub is necessary.
(7.9/10)
Weak Foot
His 4★ weak foot is decently reliable. He does miss some crucial chances when shot from the left foot, but it's manageable most of the time, especially by using swipe shots.
(8.7/10)
Final Verdict
Rafael Leão is a tall, silky winger with exceptional dribbling and good finishing. His ability to stun defenders and create chances in tight spaces makes him very dangerous. However, his lack of top-tier pace, low physicality, and stamina issues hold him back from being ultimately a meta option. Overall, he is a fun and effective winger, especially if used smartly and rotated with a super sub. He can also work well if used in a double ST formation.
