Toure has excellent pace for a defensive midfielder. He covers huge areas of the pitch with ease and can quickly recover when opponents try to break through. His speed also allows him to carry the ball forward and contribute to attacks without feeling slow or restricted.

His shooting is surprisingly dangerous for a CDM. Toure can arrive around the edge of the box and finish chances confidently, giving him an attacking threat that many defensive midfielders simply do not have. He can contribute with goals when given the opportunity.

His passing is absolutely elite. Short passes, through balls and longer passes all feel extremely reliable. Toure can dictate the tempo of the game from deep positions and quickly move the ball into dangerous areas, making him equally valuable in both defensive and attacking phases.

For a player of his size, his dribbling is incredibly good. He feels composed on the ball, can carry possession through midfield and is difficult to dispossess. While he is not the most agile midfielder available, his strength and ball control make him extremely effective when progressing forward.

122 Champion Yaya Toure is an absolute monster and one of the most complete midfielders available. His elite passing, dominant defending, incredible physicality and ability to contribute in attack make him capable of doing almost everything. He can control the midfield, win possession, carry the ball forward and create chances with ease. The only real downside is his availability, as this is a very expensive card, but purely based on performance, Toure is easily one of the best CDMs you can use.
